The project consisted of a 4,251 square foot expansion of the library into the existing adjacent Jamieson Building, along with new finishes within the existing 3,294 square foot library space.
The expansion entailed complete demolition, remodeling and structural upgrades to the first floor. The Jamieson building space was connected to the current library by a new 12’ arched opening through the shared masonry wall. The renovated first floor space includes the children’s library with art space, a new accessible restroom, and a small meeting room with kitchenette. Finishes included new ACT drop ceiling with gypsum soffits, luxury vinyl tile, carpet tiles and installation of residential casework.
The project also addressed areas of deferred maintenance that included window and exterior door replacement, masonry tuck pointing, reconstruction of both stairways, and new coping along parapet walls.
