Madison College expanded its existing building to add program space, including a new library, student achievement center, new advanced manufacturing and renewable energy lab, plus a new entrance. The two additions of 6,800 square feet were designed to LEED® Silver certification standards and included energy modeling, a high-efficiency building envelope, lighting and HVAC systems, and a rain garden stormwater system.
3,000 square feet of renovated space created new offices for student services staff, upgraded finishes, and accessible restrooms. The project also included expansion of the fire alarm system, new lighting with daylight controls, expanded and upgraded voice/data systems, relocated duct work and VAV boxes to serve new and existing spaces, and modifications to the sprinkler system.
This project was one of the Madison College Smart Future Program buildings that received In Business magazine’s 2014 Commercial Design Award.
