Ron has over 40 years of experience in the architectural profession. While he has led various types of new and renovation projects, historic preservation and rehabilitation is a particular interest and passion. Prior to joining Dimension IV Madison Design Group, Ron led the restoration of the Iowa State Capitol and rehabilitation of numerous other historic structures. Ron received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Ron directs and is hands-on involved in a variety of projects. His particular focus is renovation and adaptive reuse of existing structures. Ron finds helping clients create and renew inspiring religious and worship facilities a particularly satisfying focus of practice. Mentoring younger members of the firm, Ron is the in-office code consultant for both newer and experienced staff.
Outside the office Ron enjoys spending time with his family, reading, rehabbing the family home originally occupied by Governor Gaylord Nelson, taking walks in the woods, and working out at the gym. Ron is active in his church and currently sits on the State Capitol and Executive Residence Board.
